Good Thursday Morning to all!!! We just returned from a 6 day backpacking trip in the Rocky Mountains last week, and have much to say!! Weather and mosquitoes would both be a deterrent but we still managed an epic trip! The scenery was unreal and the fishing was fantastic! We ended up with at least 5 different species caught on the trip: Rainbow, Cuttbow, Brook, Cutthroat, and Golden trout all were taken. Almost everyday we were greeted with hail and rain which caused some minor shifts in our plans, but for the most part we just stuck it out! We went over 3 days without seeing a single person! Fishing ranged from absolutely on FIRE to downright dead sometimes. One occasion I found myself fishing in hail storm with some mixed in rain and the golden trout were smashing every single cast I threw out! Truly something I will NEVER forget! In the end, we saw some incredible sights, experienced some great fishing, but mainly enjoyed each others company in a truly surreal place. Here are a few pics to wet your appetite. More to come soon. Til next time...
